Just after 4 p.m. today, Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress at 2250 W. Summer Place in Citrus Springs.

When they arrived at the residence, they found a 69-year-old man, Harold Gene Brown, dead from knife wounds, plus his stepson, Michael Staton, 56, also suffering from stab wounds. The younger man was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital for treatment.

Brown's wife, who is Staton's biological mother, also was in the home when the disturbance occurred. The medical examiner's office will be transporting Brown's body to Leesburg for autopsy.

CCSO detectives and crime scene technicians currently are on scene, and a homicide investigation is under way. More information will be posted as the Sherifff's Office releases more details.
